Website audit for salons & spas
Clients book between other things, on a phone, and abandon anything that feels slow. The usual suspects on salon sites are booking embeds, image-only price lists and heavy galleries. Technical checks catch thin pages and missing alt text; booking/widget and gallery weight show up in paid Lighthouse runs.
The free scan checks one page in about 30 seconds. No account, no card.
What the audit adds

- Technical SEO checks on every crawled page
- Site-wide crawl issues: duplicates, thin pages, orphan pages
- AI copy and conversion review with ready-to-paste rewrites
- A prioritized 30-day plan for your site
What usually goes wrong
Website problems that matter for salons & spas
Each item lists the checks that detect it. When we do not check something automatically, it says so and tells you what to do by hand.
Booking widget that delays the page
Third-party booking embeds load before your content does, and they are the most common slowdown on salon sites.
Not checked automatically — do this by hand.
Lighthouse in every paid audit measures Total Blocking Time and LCP. Ask your booking provider for a deferred or async embed, then re-run the audit.
Too little readable text on the page
When services and prices live only in an image or PDF, the page has almost no readable words for search engines or screen readers.
- Content length
- Thin pages, fewer than 150 words (site-wide crawl)
Content-length and thin-page only count visible words — they do not detect “price list is a PDF”. Publish services and prices as real HTML text so those checks can pass.
Galleries without alt text
Portfolio photos with no alt text fail the img-alt check. Missing width/height attributes are a separate layout concern — check them by hand or in Lighthouse.
- Image alt text
Instagram embeds on every page
Embedded feeds pull scripts from Instagram on each visit and add seconds on mobile.
Not checked automatically — do this by hand.
Lighthouse shows their cost in the paid audit. Replace live embeds with a linked static image of your grid.
Hours and address hard to find
Clients check hours and location before booking; when that information is buried, the back button wins.
Not checked automatically — do this by hand.
No automated check verifies where your hours and address sit on the page. Keep them in the footer of every page. The AI conversion review in paid audits comments on the path to booking.
FAQ
Salons & spas questions, answered.
Can you audit my booking provider's pages?
No. We audit your public website. If the booking widget slows your pages, the report shows its measured cost, which you can take to the provider.
Do you check Instagram or Google reviews?
No. We measure your own site. Social profiles and reviews live on their platforms.
Will the audit tell me which images to compress?
Lighthouse in the paid audit reports page weight and layout shift per page, and the img-alt check lists photos missing alt text, so you know which images to fix first.
How much work is it to fix what you find?
Most findings are settings, image exports or copy changes you can do yourself. Each finding comes with a specific fix, and the Fix Pack product writes the code changes for you.
By platform
On these platforms?
Many salons & spas sites run on one of these. The platform pages list the same problems from the platform side, with fixes written for it.
