Website audit for law firms
Clients hire the firm that looks competent and current when they compare three tabs. Practice pages with duplicated boilerplate, slow bios and dead links undermine exactly that. The audit finds these issues page by page and ranks them by impact.
The free scan checks one page in about 30 seconds. No account, no card.
What the audit adds
- Lighthouse on a mobile device: LCP, INP/TBT, CLS, page weight
- Technical SEO checks on every crawled page
- Site-wide crawl issues: duplicates, thin pages, orphan pages
- AI copy and conversion review with ready-to-paste rewrites
- A prioritized 30-day plan for your site
What usually goes wrong
Website problems that matter for law firms
Each item lists the checks that detect it. When we do not check something automatically, it says so and tells you what to do by hand.
Practice pages that repeat each other
When related practice areas share one paragraph of copy, neither clients nor search engines can tell the pages apart.
- Duplicate titles across pages (site-wide crawl)
- Duplicate meta descriptions (site-wide crawl)
- Content length
Attorney bios with no structure
Bios are usually the most visited pages on a firm site, and the most neglected: no H1, no meta description, no social preview.
- H1 heading
- Meta description
- Social sharing
Case results and old posts with dead links
Links to courts, articles and old domains rot over the years, and every dead end erodes both ranking signals and trust.
- Broken internal links (Full Test)
- Redirect chains (site-wide crawl)
No structured data (JSON-LD) at all
The structured-data check only reports whether any JSON-LD exists — not LegalService or Attorney types. Most firm sites ship none.
- Structured data
After any JSON-LD is present, LegalService / Attorney markup for practice areas and people is advice for richer results, not what the check verifies.
Slow page delivery
Large hero images and plugin-heavy themes make firm sites slower than they need to be.
- Server response time
- HTML size
Lighthouse on a mobile device is part of every paid audit.
FAQ
Law firms questions, answered.
Do you check legal directories like Avvo or Justia?
No. We audit your own website. Directory listings are managed on their platforms.
Can an audit help with 'lawyer near me' searches?
It fixes the website-side ranking factors: page speed, titles, structure, internal links and content depth. Local pack ranking also depends on your Google Business Profile and reviews, which are outside the audit.
Will you rewrite our practice-area copy?
The paid audit includes an AI copy review with ready-to-paste suggestions for titles, headings and key paragraphs. Your attorneys review and approve the wording; we do not publish anything for you.
Is the audit confidential?
We only look at your public pages, like any visitor. Nothing behind a login is accessed, and results are sent to the email you give us.
By platform
On these platforms?
Many law firms sites run on one of these. The platform pages list the same problems from the platform side, with fixes written for it.
